Jacob Haselhoff
Composer, Pianist, Violinist
Biography
Jacob Haselhoff is a pianist, violinist, bass vocalist, and composer from Santa Monica, California. He currently attends the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, majoring in Music Composition, and has studied under both Peter Golub and David Lefkowitz. His works include pieces written for piano, chamber ensembles, choral ensembles, and full orchestras, which are characterized by a rhythmically driven energy and a clear, cinematic sound.
Beyond the concert hall, Haselhoff is deeply involved in UCLA’s collaborative music and film scene. He performs with the UCLA Chamber Choir, plays electric bass in the progressive rock band Progative, and sings/arranges for the community service A Cappella group YouthPhonics, bringing together classical training with contemporary performance. As Webmaster for UCLA’s Delta Kappa Alpha (DKA) film fraternity, he works at the intersection of music, storytelling, and visual media, a role that continues to shape his approach to dramatic writing, collaboration, and cinematic sound.
